Custom design is exclusive, wearable art. I provide a uniquely collaborative and personalized process. I believe active listening is the core of creative success, and I spend the time to get to know what you’re looking for in the garment, why it inspires you, and how we can use it to facilitate joy and meaning in your life. I guide you through the process of sourcing quality material, aesthetic inspiration, and thoughtful design elements. Using your vision, I then design the pattern, create a mock-up of the garment, and we meet in person for multiple fittings to adjust the piece to your natural rhythms, acknowledging that our bodies and identities change considerably day to day and over time. When we are both fully satisfied, I create a durable one-of-a-kind work of art for you to wear as you want, love as you want, and generally enjoy your life in. I take deep pride in my custom work, and the relationships I build through this collaborative process, and continue to be on-call for repair and alterations as the garments evolve alongside you.

Mending and altering your wardrobe reduces waste and unnecessary consumerism. It’s good for the environment and for maintaining agency over your resources, including how you aesthetically represent yourself in the world. Shopping consignment is a fantastic option, and often requires a hem or mend. Salvaging and restoring family heirlooms honors your roots in a way that acknowledges your own contributions to those stories. Repurposing or repairing the beloved but random top from Target that fell into your lap 15 years ago can become a meaningful ode to how far you’ve come in that time, and how good you feel when you wear it. Value is measured beyond money, and what we love to wear is one of my favorite examples of that. A treasured article of clothing that fits just right and makes you look and feel incredible is truly priceless.
